MARVIN A. MASS

Marvin Mass, chairman of Cosentini Associates, is one of America’s foremost mechanical engineers. He has collaborated on many of the most important buildings of the past half-century. Since beginning his distinguished career in 1952, he has overseen the ongoing development and enhancement of his firm’s standards of design, construction, and supervision. Mass is a long-standing faculty member at Yale University and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has lectured at the University of Pennsylvania, Pratt Institute, and Cooper Union. He was honored with the Franklin Institute’s prestigious Brown Medal, AIA Institute Honors, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Mass earned his professional degree from New York University and is licensed in 23 states. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, ASHRAE, the Building and Architecture Technology Institute, and the Institute for the Study of the High-Rise Habitat. Mass is an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects.
